Sanjay Kumar Jain appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of IRCTC
The Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has appointed Sanjay Kumar Jain as its new Chairman and Managing Director on Wednesday, February 14. He has taken charge of the office from the same day onwards. Let’s learn more about Sanjay Kumar Jain and his experience below:
Sanjay Kumar Jain – Profile:
An Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTC) officer from the 1990 batch, Sanjay Kumar Jain comes on board as Chairman and Managing Director with decades of experience in policy-making, handling various portfolios in the PSUs, Ministry of Railways among others. A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)l, his past career experiences include leadership roles in commercial ventures, developmental ventures of the Government of India, and more.
As per IRCTC’s update on his new appointment, he has worked as a Group General Manager (North Zone), at IRCTC, Joint Secretary in the Department of Public Enterprises, and CEO of National Land Monetization Corporation Limited. Sanjay Kumar Jain has also contributed and worked as a Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai, Central Railway.
According to IRCTC, Jain’s contribution in the organization ranges from different verticals. From providing a new dimension to the Maharajas’ Express, launching India’s first ‘Executive Lounge’ at New Delhi Railway station, to improving the overall business, Jain has been an important leader. Through his leadership roles and unique ideas, the IRCTC’s NZ tourism business grew by 35 times over the past 5 years, added IRCTC.
